College and university rankings should provide a simple and easy way for prospective students to compare degree program offerings.
However, with most ranking listings, it is easy to quickly lose the nuance and detail that make individual degree programs special. In the cybersecurity field, for example, gaining hands-on experience and/or access to professionals in the industry might be more important than in other fields of academic study. But do traditional college and university rankings really capture that?
In order to help make cybersecurity program rankings more useful to today’s students, we’ve developed a rankings methodology that we think best captures the spirit of program rankings and hopefully provides more utility to students going through their decision process.
