Most affordable cybersecurity degree programs

Written by Cybersecurity Guide Contributors – Last updated: October 27, 2025

Choosing the perfect cybersecurity degree program involves several key considerations. For many learners, cost is a primary concern.

To assist with degree program affordability research, the Cybersecurity Guide team has curated a fresh ranking of top online cybersecurity master’s programs, focusing on total projected tuition costs.

However, affordability shouldn’t sacrifice quality career preparation. So, to qualify for our 2026 rankings of the most cost-effective online cybersecurity master’s programs, each institution must also hold a Center for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (CAE-C) designation.

Finding an affordable cybersecurity degree program

There are 25 cybersecurity bachelor’s degree programs that made the 2026 most affordable degree program list.

The rankings, which are based on the overall projected degree cost divided by the number of credits required to graduate, represent a blend of opportunities.

Some of these programs are offered by name-brand institutions, known for academic rigor and success. Other programs are offered by lesser-known schools that have managed to build quality cybersecurity programs in recent years.

The 2026 affordability rankings are also geographically distributed across the United States. Between the program size and location, there is likely a good fit for most students looking for a quality cybersecurity education while also optimizing for overall degree cost.
